The Safety Guide
Partying should be about fun, not regrets. Whether you’re drinking, smoking, rolling, or something else, a little awareness goes a long way in keeping the night from going sideways. Even experienced partygoers can run into trouble if they’re not careful, so it’s important to know your limits, stay hydrated, and pace yourself.
This guide covers harm reduction strategies, hydration tips, the risks of mixing substances, and looking out for your crew—because the best nights are the ones you can actually remember.

Know What You’re Taking
Not everything is what it claims to be. Fentanyl and other dangerous substances are showing up in coke, molly, ketamine, and pressed pills. Even small amounts can be fatal, so test your supply before taking anything.

How to Use a Fentanyl Test Strip
- Crush a small sample of your substance and dissolve it in water.
- Dip the test strip and wait for the result.
- Read the instructions carefully—some substances require special dilution.
- If the test detects fentanyl, do not take it. Dispose of it immediately.
Testing your supply only takes a minute and can save your life.
Hydration & Overheating
Alcohol, Molly, Weed—Different Risks, Same Need for Hydration
Alcohol dehydrates you, so drinking water between drinks helps prevent hangovers and overheating.
Weed can dry you out, so keep something to sip on.
Molly (MDMA) and Ecstasy can cause overheating and dehydration, but drinking too much water can also be dangerous. Sip small amounts of water steadily rather than chugging large amounts at once.
Signs of Dehydration or Overheating
Dizziness, nausea, confusion, or extreme thirst mean it’s time to slow down and hydrate.
Hot skin, rapid pulse, or lack of sweat means you need to cool down immediately.
Tip: If you’re rolling on molly, water isn’t enough. Electrolytes are key. Sports drinks or coconut water help replenish what your body loses. You can get powdered electrolytes that you can carry with you on the go to drop in your bottle of water.
Pace Yourself & Know Your Limits
More is not always better. Overdoing it can turn a great night into a disaster.
Start small. You can always take more, but you can’t undo what you’ve already taken.
Mixing increases risk. Alcohol, coke, molly, and weed all interact in different ways. If you’re mixing, do it carefully and in moderation.
Space things out. Give your body time to process before taking another hit, drink, or dose.
If you feel weird, listen to your body. Sit down, sip some water, and take a break.
Look Out for Your Friends
The best way to stay safe is to have a solid crew that watches each other’s backs.
Stick with a buddy. Never party alone, and always have at least one person looking out for you.
Check in on your friends. If someone looks off—slurred speech, confusion, overheating, or passing out—step in.
Don’t let someone go home alone if they’re too messed up. Make sure they get back safely.
Recognizing an Overdose or Emergency
Alcohol Poisoning: Unconscious, slow breathing, or unresponsive? Call for help and place them on their side to prevent choking.
Opioid Overdose: Blue lips, shallow breathing, unconscious? Use Narcan immediately and call 911. Many states have Good Samaritan laws that protect you from getting in trouble for calling for help.
Too High on Molly or Coke? Move them to a cool area, give them water slowly, and do not let them take more.
If you’re unsure whether someone needs help, err on the side of caution and get medical assistance.
Have a Plan to Get Home
Never drive under the influence. It’s not worth the risk to yourself or others.
Safer Options
Rideshare (Uber/Lyft): Set up your ride in advance if you know you’ll be too intoxicated to handle it later.
Designated Driver: If someone in your group is staying sober, make sure they get some appreciation for it.
Crash at a Friend’s Place: Sometimes the safest option is not going anywhere until you’re sober.
If your friend is too intoxicated to function, do not send them home alone in an Uber. Make sure they actually get inside safely.
Drug-Specific Safety Tips
Weed
-
-
If you’re new, start slow—especially with edibles, which can take up to two hours to kick in.
-
If you get too high, stay calm, hydrate, and wait it out.
-
CBD can help tone down the effects of THC if you get uncomfortable.
-
Coke
-
-
Stay hydrated, but don’t overdo it—too much water can cause other problems.
-
Use your own straw or bump key to avoid sharing germs.
-
Coke and alcohol intensify each other. Mixing can mask how intoxicated you are.
-
If you feel anxious or unwell, take a break. Your heart and body need time to recover.
-
Molly (MDMA, Ecstasy)
-
-
Test your supply to ensure it’s actually MDMA and not something more dangerous.
-
Hydrate, but don’t chug water. Electrolytes help prevent overheating.
-
Take breaks from dancing or moving around if you start feeling hot.
-
Don’t redose too soon. MDMA has a peak and a come-down. Redosing can increase the risk of serotonin syndrome.
-
Dabs & High-Potency Weed
-
-
Don’t assume you can handle dabs just because you smoke flower. Start with a small hit.
-
If you get too high, breathe, hydrate, and remind yourself that it will pass.
-
Blacking out from a dab is real. Sit down before taking a big hit.
-
Drinking
-
-
Eat before drinking, and pace yourself—shots hit harder on an empty stomach.
-
Know your own tolerance. Three drinks might be fine for one person and too much for another.
-
If you start feeling dizzy, nauseous, or confused, switch to water and take a break.
