Review: Moose Labs MouthPeace

Moose Labs MouthPeaceThe Moose Labs MouthPeace is a decent option for filtering toxins while smoking, but it has its limitations.

The design and build quality are solid—it’s sturdy, comfortable to use, and available in a range of colors to suit your style. The filters, which come in corn fiber and carbon options, are designed to trap some of the toxins in the smoke. After testing both, I personally prefer the corn filters—they offer a smoother hit and don’t interfere much with the flavor. Moose Labs also offers a subscription service for the filters and a rewards program, which are nice perks for regular users.

Standard, Micro or Mini
The standard version will fit just about any standard bong while the  mini and micro versions are designed for smaller devices like joints and blunts, with the mini version sold in a two-pack. With multiple options, it’s a versatile choice for different types of smokers.

Helpful, Not Perfect
While the MouthPeace does make a noticeable difference by trapping some of the junk, it doesn’t filter as much as I had hoped. As an experiment, I added a piece of toilet paper to the top of the MouthPeace before taking a hit. Even after the smoke passed through the MouthPeace’s filter, the toilet paper still caught a significant amount of gunk. This showed me that while the MouthPeace helps, it’s far from perfect and doesn’t stop as much as I’d like. It’s still better than using nothing, but the level of filtration left me slightly underwhelmed.

On the plus side, the MouthPeace is a big step up from my old DIY method of using toilet paper as a filter—it’s far more practical and definitely looks better. I keep two MouthPeaces: one for personal use and one for guests. They’re great for group sessions, offering a hygienic and stylish solution. The mini and micro versions are also handy for smaller smoking devices.

Is It Dishwasher Safe?
Yes, the Moose Labs MouthPeace is dishwasher safe. It’s made from platinum-cured silicone, which allows for cleaning in the dishwasher, as well as by hand using dish soap and water or isopropyl alcohol.

How Much Is It?
All 3 versions of the MouthPeace are available for $9.99 each, making it an affordable choice. Filters start at $6.99 for 10 with a subscription option that will make them a little cheaper and keep you stocked.

Final Thoughts
Overall, while the Moose Labs MouthPeace is a good concept with some clear benefits—like smoother hits and partial toxin filtration—it doesn’t live up to its full potential in terms of performance. At its price point, it’s still worth trying if you want to improve your smoking experience, but don’t expect a complete filtration solution.
